Last year we hosted our first women’s building workshop and due to its wonderful success we have decided to continue on the movement with another workshop this spring.  This workshop will be an opportunity for women to come together to build a natural structure, building on the experience of other woman builders.  No previous experience necessary, just a desire to get your hands in the mud and build something together!

ปีที่แล้วเราประสบความสำเร็จมากจากการทำคอร์สผู้หญิงสร้างบ้านดินเป็นครั้งแรกในเมืองไทย  ปีนี้เราจึงจัดคอร์สนี้อีกเราหวังว่าผู้หญิงที่เข้าร่วมจะได้มีประสบการณ์และสามารถสร้างบ้านตามวิถีธรรมชาติ ไม่จำเป็นต้องมีประสบการณ์มาก่อนแค่มีสองมือที่พร้อมจะเปื้อนดินและความต้องการที่จะสร้างบ้านดินสักหลังด้วยกัน

This will be a collaborative effort between Sangsan Anakot Yawachon Development Project (SAYDP), Pun Pun Sustainable Living Learning Center and International Women’s Partnership for Peace and Justice (IWP).  

คอร์สครั้งนี้เป็นความร่วมมือระหว่าง โครงการพัฒนาเพื่อสร้างสรรค์อนาคตเยาวชน (SAYDP)  พันพรรณ ศูนย์การเรียนรู้เพื่อการพึ่งตนเอง และศูนย์เมล็ดพันธ์ (Pun Pun) และ ศูนย์ผู้หญิงเพื่อสันติภาพและความยุติธรรม ( IWP)  

Course will be in English and Thai
คอร์ส 2 ภาษา (ไทยและอังกฤษ)

The cost of the course is 10,000 baht ( around $333 US) for the 10 days.  This includes all accommodation, food, and instruction.

A youth development project in Thailand empowering ethnic minority, and often stateless youth through education and vocational and life skills training, while giving them the confidence and voice to defend their rights and be community leaders.

เป็นโครงการพัฒนาเพื่อเสริมพลังเยาวชนชาติพันธุ์ (ส่วนหนึ่งเป็นเยาวชนที่ไร้สัญชาติ) โดยสนับสนุนเรื่องการศึกษาไม่ว่าจะเป็นทุนการศึกษา การฝึกวิชาชีพและส่งเสริมทักษะชีวิต เพื่อให้เยาวชนกลุ่มเป้าหมายมีความเชื่อมันในตนเองและสามารถยืนหยัดต่อสู่เพื่อสิทธิของพวกเขา และก้าวสู่การเป็นผู้นำในชุมชนได้

 

Description
ลักษณะงาน

SAY-DP started in 2008 as a small life-skills and scholarship program, supporting students from minority indigenous communities (many of whom have no official citizenship in Thailand). These students are living far from home, living in boarding schools which makes theme extremely vulnerable to volatile environment in which they live. SAY-DP works with these students to identify their needs, develop trainings consistent with their goals and topics of interest, and provides scholarships to those most at risk of of having to cease their education. Trainings involve everything from hygiene and first aid, to financial literacy, to human rights, and how to make homemade soaps and clothing. Students are given the space to explore their identities as minority youth and given the skills to stand up for themselves and fight discrimination.

เราเริ่มโครงการฯเมื่อปี 2549 จากการดำเนินกิจกรรมเพื่อเสริมทักษะชีวิตและส่งเสริมทุนการศึกษาสำหรับเยาวชนชาติพันธุ์ (เยาวชนบางส่วนไม่มีสถานะบุคคล) เขาเหล่านี้ต้องเดินทางไกลออกมาจากหมู่บ้าน มาพักอาศึกอยู่ในหอพักของโรงเรียนเพื่อศึกษาเล่าเรียนในระบบการศึกษากระแสหลักที่ปฏิเสธความแตกต่างหลากหลาย ทำให้เยาวชนเหล่านี้มีความบอบบาง อ่อนไหวและไม่มั่นคง เราจึงทำงานเพื่อเสริมพลัง ให้เขาสามารถวิเคราะห์ความต้องการของตนเอง ตลอดจนพัฒนาหลักสูตรการอบรมแบบมีส่วนร่วมตามความสนใจของกลุ่มเป้าหมายซึ่งครอบคลุมประเด็นเนื้อหาตั้งแต่สุขอนามัยและสุขภาวะทาเงเพศ  การวางแผนบริหารและจัดการชีวิต การวางแผนบริหารและจัดการเงิน การพึ่งตนเองด้านปัจจัย 4 (อาหาร เครื่องนุ่งห่ม ยาและที่อยู่อาศัย) การทำเกษตรอินทรีย์ เรียนรู้เรื่องสิทธิ และยังสนับสนุนทุนการศึกษาทั้งในระดับมัธยมศึกษาไปจนถึงระดับมหาวิทยาลัย ทั้งหมดนี้เพื่อให้เด็กและเยาวชนเหล่านี้ได้มีพื้นที่สำหรับค้นหาอัตลักษณ์ความเป็นชาติพันธุ์ของตน ตลอดจนมีโอกาสได้เสริมทักษะต่างๆ เพื่อให้เขาสามารถหยัดยืนเพื่อตนเองและต่อสู้กับการแบ่งแยก และการเลือกปฏิบัติเพื่อนำไปสู้ความยุติธรรมและเท่าเทียมในสังคม

 

The program currently works with over 400 youth from primary school all the way to the university level. Since starting in 2008, the number of students graduating high has increase ten fold from 2 students to over 30. Once students graduate they are encouraged to pursue higher education through scholarship support. The majority of these students will use the skills they learned through SAY-DP and at the university to go back to their home communities and become teachers, social workers, and community activists.

โครงการฯ ทำงานกับกลุ่มเป้าหมาย คือ เยาวชนชาติพันธุ์กว่า 400 คน ตั้งแต่ระดับประถมศึกษาไปจนถึงระดับมหาวิทยาลัย นับตั้งแต่เริ่มโครงการฯ เมื่อปี 2549 จำนวนนักเรียนที่จบการศึกษาได้เพิ่มสูงขึ้นเรื่อยๆ จากจำนวนนักเรียนเพียง 2 คนที่จบมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลาย มาบัดนี้เรามีนักเรียนกว่า 30 คน ที่สามารถเรียนจนจบ (และมีแนวโน้มเรียนจบเพิ่มมากขึ้น ทุกปีๆ) และเขาเหล่านี้สามารถศึกษาต่อในระดับมหาวิทยาลัยจากการสนับสนุนทุนการศึกษาและกิจกรรมของโครงการฯ

นอกจากนี้เยาวชนเหล่านี้ซึ่งจะกลายเป็น ครู นักพัฒนาสังคม และนักกิจกรรมในชุมชน  ในอนาคตเขามีความหวังที่นำความรู้ตลอดจนทักษะต่างๆ เพื่อกลับไปพัฒนาชุมชนของตนเอง
